Wine Tours in Chile
Walk century-old vineyards, taste Carménère where it grows and stay for lunch among the vines. We bring together the tours of Chile's most iconic wineries so you can compare prices, dates and tour languages in one place.
Chile is one of the world's great wine countries and, unlike almost any other, its best wineries are less than two hours from the capital. In the Maipo Valley, minutes from Santiago, you'll find the historic estates of Concha y Toro, Santa Rita, Cousiño Macul, Undurraga and Tarapacá. On the way to the coast, the Casablanca Valley is the land of whites and sparkling wines. Further south, Cachapoal and Colchagua offer bold reds, hillside landscapes and full-day experiences.
The grape to try is Carménère. It came from Bordeaux in the 19th century, was thought extinct in Europe after the phylloxera plague, and in 1994 it was found still growing in Chile, mistaken for Merlot. Today it is the signature of Chilean wine.
There is a tour for every plan: the classic visit with tasting for first-timers, paired lunches, bike or carriage rides, sunsets and stargazing, icon-wine tastings or a getaway with a night at the winery. Bookings are made directly with each winery.
How to choose your wine tour
First time?
Pick a 60 to 90-minute tour with tasting in the Maipo Valley: the closest to Santiago and the most affordable.
Something special?
Look for paired lunches, sunset tours or stargazing: the best ones to celebrate.
Visiting from abroad?
Filter by language: most wineries run tours in English and several in Portuguese.
No car?
Don't drive after tasting. Some experiences include transfer from Santiago, and Cousiño Macul is inside the city.

Cousiño Macul is inside Santiago, in Peñalolén. Less than an hour away are Concha y Toro and Don Melchor (Pirque), Santa Rita (Buin), Undurraga (Talagante) and Tarapacá (Isla de Maipo). The Casablanca Valley is an hour away on the road to Valparaíso, and Colchagua about two and a half hours.
How much does a wine tour in Chile cost?
Experiences start at CLP 11,000 per person. A classic tour with tasting usually costs CLP 25,000–60,000; with lunch or food pairing, CLP 55,000–170,000; icon-wine tastings can exceed CLP 200,000.
Are there wine tours in English?
Yes. Almost every winery offers tours in English and several in Portuguese. Use the language filter to see only tours with dates in your language.
When is the best time for a wine tour in Chile?
Any time of year. Harvest season (March and April) is the most special, with festivals and picking; spring and summer are ideal for outdoor activities, and winter is quieter with the cellars just as beautiful.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, especially on weekends and in high season: places are limited. Here you can see the next available dates of each experience and book directly on the winery’s website.
What is Carménère?
A red grape from Bordeaux that was thought lost after phylloxera and was rediscovered in Chile in 1994. It is the country's emblematic grape: try Santa Rita's Carménère Tour or the reds of Colchagua and Cachapoal.
