Osorno Volcano & Petrohue Falls from Puerto Montt
Nomades
Discover Osorno Volcano and Petrohué Falls on a tour from Puerto Montt with lakes, mountains, forests, and unforgettable landscapes.
Please check with the organizer whether this activity is available in English.
Details
We will depart from Puerto Montt, traveling along the shores of Lake Llanquihue to Ensenada, before ascending to the Osorno Volcano Ski and Mountain Center. Here, you will spend about an hour enjoying panoramic views of the Andes Mountains, the vast lake, and even the Pacific Ocean if weather allows. Optionally and if they are available, you can ride the chairlift (not included and subject to availability) to the Primavera Station (1450 m) or the Glacier Station (1750 m), or simply enjoy a hot coffee or chocolate at the café.
Next, we will continue to Petrohué, inside Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park (entrance not included). Surrounded by lush forest, you will walk trails leading to the spectacular Petrohué Falls, where the river’s turquoise waters crash with immense power. We will then head to Puerto Petrohué, on the shores of Lake Todos los Santos, where, if conditions allow, you may take a 30-minute motorboat ride with volcano and forest views.
We will finish our journey returning to Puerto Montt, carrying with us the majesty of the Osorno Volcano, the Petrohué Falls, and the stunning Chilean Lake District.
Important notes
- During January and February, increased visitor traffic may delay the return time. We recommend scheduling onward travel from Puerto Varas at least 5 hours after the estimated return time, or preferably for the following day.
