You'll depart from La Serena, leaving behind the semidesert landscapes of the Coquimbo Region as you go up the hill in a vehicle where Fray Jorge National Park is located. As you climb, you'll witness the landscape change from dry scrubland to a temperate rainforest, almost as if you were visiting southern Chile in the heart of the country's Norte Chico area.
Your 8-hour tour of Fray Jorge National Park begins with departure from La Serena. From there, you'll travel the 120 km (75 miles) to the national park, driving uphill to the starting point of your walk along the park's trails. This is an easy walk suitable for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. Lunch will be served as a box lunch at a designated area inside the park.
