We depart from Puerto Varas heading toward Chiloé Island, crossing the Chacao Channel by ferry. Upon arrival, we pass through the village of Chacao, where we can experience some of the local architecture and culture. We then head straight to Puñihuil Beach for a boat tour to spot penguins during their breeding season.

We can see two types of penguins—Magellanic and Humboldt—as well as the native flora and fauna.

We have lunch at a typical local beachfront restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

We take a walk (1 km round trip) to a viewpoint (Muelle el Caleuche) for an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean.

We continue to the town of Ancud, where we visit the town square and a typical local handicraft market.
