TOCATAS INACTUALES: JORGE CAMPOS EN MULTIESPACIO ARTE Y CULTURA

With a small change of date, we started with the promotion of our 5th session of #Tocatas Incurrent, in which we will have the privilege of having the presence of #Jorge Campos (@jorge .c.astorga.1): the bassist and composer will be in a new session of the instance of cultural dissemination and valuation, on Saturday, October 30 from 8 pm, at @multiespacioarteycultura.

A fundamental figure in Chilean culture, Campos (@jorgecamposproject) is not only important for being a founder or participating in consular bands of our musical tradition such as @grupocongresooficial, Santiago del Nuevo Extremo and #Fulano, but also because he stands out as one of the main exponents of the great fusion of our country. A versatile improviser, prolific composer and excellent bassist, in the 6 decades he has been active, Campos has developed an extensive, varied and forceful body of work, ranging from the iconoclastic jazz-rock of his albums with Jorge Campos Kuarteto or Global Evasión, to his experiments in the bass -expanding his tonal demarcation- on his solo album “Nu Bass” or in” Machi”, entering and leaving the song in albums such as “The Necessary Magic” and “The Absence of the Sacred”, the free improvisation with @lukaxsantana in Quilombo Expontáneo, the Latin American folklore in Araukania Kuintet, the fusion in Animals In Extinction or in his trio with @pedrogreeneorrego and Cristián Cuturrufo (✝️) and the learned music in his new symphonic LP” Orchestral work No. I”, among other facets. Campos has also been able to combine, in his aesthetics, Chilean and indigenous spirituality -one of his double-mast bass is called Machi-, with an attitude that is always irreverent and opposed to discourses of power and oppression.

#Tocatas Incurrent days include a conversation with the journalist @hectoraravenaappelt and an intimate concert divided into two sets, which seeks to highlight and highlight the work and history of various exponents of Chilean music from various generations, always related to jazz, experimentation, improvisation, progressive rock, fusion and classical music. @talleresinactuales and @rockaxisoficial are invited
