SCHWENKE & NILO CONCIERTO EN CASA DE LA CULTURA DE VALPARAÍSO

SCHWENKE & NILO RETURNS TO VALPARAISO, TO THE HOUSE OF CULTURE - COCHRANE 568. This Saturday, October 24 at 8:30 p.m. The group SCHWENKE & NILO, made up of Marcelo Nilo and his quintet of virtuoso Chilean musicians, will offer a long-awaited concert in Valparaíso, performing their most emblematic compositions such as: “El Viaje”, “With data from Unicef”, “My Celestial Day is Coming”, El Canelo”, “My Song” and “Lluvia del Sur”, among many others. A concert that returns to Valparaíso after taking him to the most important stages in the country, fulfilling the wish that Nelson Schwenke ever formulated. One of its founders, together with Marcelo Nilo, “are songs that blow towards the lasting and make us sing those melodies where the potion that revolts against time and oblivion has been spilled”.

SCHWENKE & NILO was founded at the Austral University of Valdivia in 1979, publishing 10 CDs and with numerous performances performed both in universities, schools and towns in the interior of the country. Its work is nourished by a strong attachment to the territory of the south of the country, whose way of life, beliefs, history and culture completely cross its creation. SCHWENKE & NILO now as a group is one of the most interesting proposals in Chilean music, far from the big stages, festivals, radio stations and television, they always opted more for discretion than for complaints due to lack of spaces. “ We knocked on the doors at the time and they didn't open,” they once said, in an option because of the marginality that sounds consistent with the musical discourse that the Schwenke & Nilo Group has maintained for more than thirty years, in force despite the premature departure of the beloved and remembered NELSON SCHWENKE.
