EMILY WITTBRODT EN BALMACEDA ARTE JOVEN, VALPARAÍSO

On Friday, October 23, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., Valparaíso will welcome the outstanding German cellist, singer, composer and performer Emily Wittbrodt, as part of her official tour of Chile organized by the Goethe-Institut Chile in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage. The concert will be held at Balmaceda Arte Joven Valparaíso and will feature the special opening of the local artist Ailina Shakti, who was selected through the open call made for this date. About the artist Emily Wittbrodt:

Emily Wittbrodt is a prominent German cellist, singer, composer and performer whose work is situated at the intersection between contemporary jazz, experimental music, improvisation and author songs. His artistic proposal combines original compositions with wide spaces for sound exploration, creating concerts that move between intimate passages, atmospheric textures and intense dynamics of collective improvisation. Recognized for its interdisciplinary approach and for a constant search for new forms of expression, Wittbrodt is part of a generation of artists who push the boundaries of jazz and current European creative music. His work integrates acoustic and electronic elements, as well as influences from different contemporary musical traditions. For this tour of Chile, Emily Wittbrodt will perform with an ensemble composed of musicians from the current German scene, forming a group of four members. The format will bring together cello, voice, keyboards, drums and electronic resources, giving life to a dynamic sound proposal, open to improvisation and oriented to dialogue between different musical sensibilities. The tour is an exceptional opportunity for musicians, programmers, music students and audiences from different regions of the country to get to know first-hand one of the most interesting emerging proposals on the new German creative scene, also encouraging artistic and professional exchange between Chile and Germany.
