In 1895, during the genocide of the Selk'nam people, 165 indigenous people were captured in Chilean Patagonia and their children handed over to the colonists as servants. More than a century later, Fernanda Olivares, a Selk'nam descendant and executive director of the Hach Saye Foundation, travels for the first time to Tierra del Fuego, the territory of her ancestors that she has never set foot on. The documentary follows this intimate return, between family history and the search for an origin, to disassemble the story of extinction: the Selk'nam are alive and were officially recognized by the State of Chile in 2023.
