CHINESE FOOTBALL DEBUTS IN CHILE WITH ITS MIX OF INDIE ROCK AND MATH ROCK The Chinese band Chinese Football will perform for the first time in Chile, bringing to Santiago a proposal that combines the energy of indie rock of the 90s with elements of math rock, emotional melodies and a powerful live staging. Formed in Wuhan, China, the quartet comprised of Xu Bo, Li Lixin, Wang Bo and Zheng Zili began their journey in 2015 with their eponymous album. Since then, they have built a solid trajectory in the Asian independent scene, becoming regulars at important festivals and venues in China. His discography includes the EPs Here Comes a New Challenger! (2017) and Continue? (2019), inspired by the idea of the “game of life”, and the album Win & Lose (2022), with which they closed this particular trilogy. In recent years, Chinese Football has rapidly expanded its international reach. In 2023 they went on a European tour of 22 concerts over 35 days, including a performance at the renowned British math rock festival Arc Tangent. In 2024 they took their music to China, Southeast Asia, Taiwan and North America, where 10 of their 12 concerts were sold out. In addition, they were invited to record live sessions for Audiotree and KEXP. With an identity that combines intensity, melody and a deeply emotional sensitivity, Chinese Football comes to Chile for the first time as part of its international expansion, marking a new chapter in the link between the Asian independent scene and the Latin American public. *Event for people over 18 years old.
